Alewerks is a little off the beaten path but not hard to find. Very near the Outlets in a small industrial park off Mooretown Road. Parking in front is shared with a few businesses next door, but there is ample overflow parking just across the road.

There's a very comfortable outside patio although noise from the adjacent mechanicals can be distracting and annoying at times. If your dog is well-behaved the patio is pet-friendly. Only verified service animals allowed inside.

Plenty of seating at the bar and at tables. No booths. Nicely decorated and a section where you can buy logo merch.

The restrooms are clean and accessible.

Alewerks only serves beer (which you would expect at a brewery) and the beer is very good (their Superb IPA lives up to its name and  is my favorite) and, giving a nod to their proximity to Colonial Williamsburg, they brew several "historic" beers using recipes from the 1700's which sets them apart from the typical brewery.

Almost all of their beers are available for take-out in growlers. The menu changes from time to time. And you can get very generous  tasting samples.

Very friendly, courteous staff especially.

Like most breweries these days they bring in food trucks. And they're very good. When the trucks aren't there you have to have one (or more) of their pretzels. Outstanding!!

I mentioned the Outlets before and guess what? Aleworks has expanded to add a satellite brewery & taproom in the Williamsburg Premium Outlets right next to Columbia Sportswear. It has the same selection of quality beers as the Brewery Taproom in a spacious setting with ample parking. They've installed a 3.5 barrel brew system allowing them to brew a number of small batch beers throughout the year.

Heads up! No smoking/vaping is allowed on Alewerks premises
